The main body of the logo is based on the Chinese character for "food", incorporating the stroke elements of "people" and "citizens", highlighting the food safety concept of "people-oriented and putting people first".

By encouraging measures such as "multi-code integration", simplifying labels, and clearly stating that more information can be displayed, the concerns of food production enterprises about uncertainty have been addressed, which will greatly promote the popularization of digital label technology in the industry. Li Yu, chief engineer of the China National Food Industry Association, said.

Through the application of digital labels, more legal information that cannot be displayed due to the limited space of physical labels can be shown, including the specific source and production process details of ingredients, detailed consumption method suggestions, food safety and nutritional characteristics descriptions, and full-chain product traceability information, etc.

In addition to continuously optimizing the display information, the digital labels will also be connected with online food operation, smart home and other fields in the future to create an ecosystem for food digital labels.

The application of digital labels marks that the label management of prepackaged food in China has officially entered a new digital stage. Gong Guoqiang, deputy director of the Food Department of the National Health Commission, said that in the future, they will continue to promote the development of food digital labels, lead the construction of international digital labels, and enhance their say in the formulation of international standards.
